What is Temple Stay?

Temple Stay is a cultural-experience program designed to help people understand Korean Buddhism better. Temple stays offer various kinds of practicing methods such as Yceremonial services, Zen-meditation, tea ceremony and communal Buddhist meal service.

Temple Stay is the perfect opportunity to find oneself while dipping into 1700 years of Korean tradition, learn about Korean Buddhism while enjoying a quiet and peaceful weekend in the beautiful nature of Korea. It is possible to choose between one- and two-day stays at participating temples all over Korea.

To get the full experience, it is best to go on a weekend with one overnight stay. During the program you can attend the morning chanting, enjoy Buddhist meals with traditional bowls and meditate alongside the monks. Depending on the temple and the season the contents of the program during the stay may vary. But the goal stays nonetheless: Finding your inner self.

Which temples participate?

Three of the most beautiful temples of Jeollanamdo participate in the program. For additional information or questions about the temple stay program, feel free to contact us or visit the homepage of Temple Stay: https://eng.templestay.com/temple-information.asp#map5
