Welcome to the green pearl of Gwangyang Baegunsan and the Seomjingang River, Maehwa Village!
Maesil Plus Maesil Jangajji, carefully preserving the taste and aroma of maesil: We use 100% domestic maesil and employ traditional preservation methods to capture the essence of Gwangyang’s renowned specialty. The plums, known for their large size and high sugar content, undergo a two-year maturation process, ensuring the finest taste and aroma of maesil.
The maesil used in our products is directly harvested from the self-owned farms and nearby production farms in Gwangyang Baegunsan and along the Seomjingang River.
The plums are carefully selected when they are ripe, having endured the cold and frost, resulting in the most delicious and nutritious maesil. Only plums harvested from late May to mid-June are used for our maesil products. Our maesil jangajji contains only the finest and firmest plums, mixed with sugar to create a delightful crunch. We also use our homemade soybean paste and domestically sourced red pepper powder to make maesil gochujang.
No preservatives or artificial coloring are added.
How to enjoy Maesil Jangajji: As a side dish for rice or as a snack with beer when you have a loss of appetite.
Enjoy it with samgyeopsal (pork belly) or fresh fish.
Use it in your kimbap (rice roll) or kimbap rice balls.
